The Orthopedic Center for Sports Medicine is a multi-specialty center of excellence dedicated to providing the highest quality care for patients and athletes with musculoskeletal injuries or disease. Specializing in arthroscopic surgery, shoulder and knee arthroscopy, and hip and knee replacement surgery. The Orthopedic Center for Sports Medicine physicians are all fellowship-trained and board certified/ board eligible. Providing timely office visits and a wide array of services including evaluations, radiographic studies (x-ray and MRI), and physical therapy all at a single location.
Dr. Felix H. “Buddy” Savoie is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of Orthopedics, Shoulder & Elbow Surgery, and Arthroscopy. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. He has served on numerous boards throughout his career and represented multiple organizations as their president. Dr. Fernando Sanchez is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon and mainly focuses on adult reconstructive surgery. Dr. Sanchez currently works at Tulane University Medical Center and serves as the director of the Joint Arthroplasty service. In May of 2018, Dr. Sanchez was awarded the title of Bette and Jack Kenneth Wickstrom Professor of Orthopedics.
He is a graduate of Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud CES Medical School in Columbia. He completed an internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, followed by his Orthopedic residency training, also at UAB.
