When you arrive at Omega Hospital, you will be greeted by our receptionist. Our receptionist will check you in at our front desk and seat you in one of our waiting lounges.
Waiting Lounges are available on the fourth and fifth floor for patients and their guest. Gourmet coffee stations and treats are also available.
Every patient has the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a member of our scheduling department. They are very knowledgeable of our hospital policies and can answer any questions you may have. They will discuss hospital admissions, review your insurance benefits, and discuss payment options with you.
At Omega, we provide routine pre-admission testing for each patient to ensure a safe surgical experience. During your appointment, our pre-admission nurse will obtain an in-depth health history from you, perform any lab work, and coordinate any testing that may need to be completed by the Radiology Department.
Our radiology department is equipped with C-Arm Units, X-Ray machines, a CT scanner, and ultrasound machines to meet every patient’s needs. Our radiology staff is accessible 24/7 to ensure patient safety and convenience.
When you arrive on the day of your surgery, you will check in at the nurses’ station on the 5th floor of the hospital. Your nurse will escort you to your patient suite to take your vital signs and complete the admissions process.
When it is time for your procedure, you will be taken to the pre-op area to meet with the anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist will discuss your procedure with you and answer any questions you may have. Our goal is to minimize any anxiety you may have by discussing the details of your visit. The physician anesthesiologist will be at your side from the time you enter the pre-op area until you are placed in the recovery unit. The anesthesiologist will skillfully administer the anesthetic plan that has been formulated to best suit you and your surgeon’s needs.
Our surgery suites are equipped with the latest technology and instrumentation to aide surgeons throughout your procedure. You may rest assured knowing that you are in the hands of a competent, highly-trained team of experts.
Once your surgery is completed, you will be moved to the recovery area to be cared for by a specially trained nurse. When you emerge from anesthesia, the recovery nurse will monitor you and address pain control and prevent and/or treat nausea. After you have been monitored, you will be moved to your patient suite for phase two of the recovery process.
Our patient suites were designed to maximize comfort for both patients and guest. Each suite features the amenities of a high-end hotel, such as flat screen TVs, a mini-bar, and a microwave. A murphy bed is also available in each room to accommodate a loved one spending the night. During your stay, you will be cared for by a member of our medical surgical nursing unit. The nursing unit is committed to fostering a quick recovery by managing your pain, keeping you comfortable, and informing you about what to expect during the duration of your stay at Omega. If needed, your nurse will also help you make arrangements for special equipment or at-home services to ensure a safe and speedy recovery.
